Throwback Picture of Myself and my Two Sisters

Circa 1957-58, I think.  I'm the oldest sister (captured wearing my frowny face).

    1. Yes. Was life really so simple back then? It seems to me that kids miss so much not having neighborhoods like I played in but they don't miss it because they never had it.

    1. Yes, definitely drank from the hose. Then someone invented that little water fountain that hooked up to the water spicket. It didn't cool the water but it was fun. However, I remember pouring water over my head and shoulders in the heat so I guess a fountain was really needed.

    1. It looks funny now, but I remember my mother "not appreciating" my attitude as a child. Wonder what made me like that.

  4. Is there anything better than a wading pool on a hot day?

    1. They were the only way back then. No neighborhood pools and no one had a pool in their back yard in middle class America!

    1. Thanks Olga. This type of family pictures really become dear as we age. However, I remember my sister's looking that way like yesterday.

    1. I always had the worst hair cuts. I never liked my hair until it grew really long and then the natural curl made sense. Before that it was wacko.

  7. Did we all have those fat little tummies? Your blonde sister looks like my blonde sister.

    1. Yes. My mother always said it was baby fat. I finally figured out in junior high that it wasn't going away - the beginning of a life long diet. Hahaha.

    1. Oddly enough I do. I remember I didn't want my mother to take the picture because something was upsetting me but I don't remember what. I tell my kids if they make silly faces in pictures that I will be displaying it to all their friends!
