A Gift for Dog Lovers

Do you need a Gift for that friend that is impossible to buy for but loves his/her dogs?  I found the cutest on-line shop DoorbellDesigns.com who makes the cutest doggie doorbell covers.

You know I'd have to have a chihuahua doorbell cover
if I only had a doorbell.

Speaking of my dear little Buddy, had to take him to the vet's this morning.  I went to the cheapie vet where I get his shots because I knew if he did have to have surgery I would have to do some research for speciality vets.

I don't really know what happened to him.  He acts a fool so often, flying down the stairs to chase cats, squirrels, birds or anything else that comes into the yard. He often hurts his undercarriage because he is so low to the ground.

Well over the weekend he started walking very stiffly and it looked liked his neck was stiff and his side looked swollen. No cuts or blood so I waited a couple of days to see if it was another backyard injury.  When he started yelping when he tried to get comfortable I knew it was time for the vet.

She wasn't sure and said an x-ray wouldn't help.  He would need a MRI if he didn't get better.  She gave him three prescriptions - muscle relaxer and pain pills.

He is laying in his little bed in la la land.  I'm not big on giving him pills but this was a must.  I am to give it 2 weeks and then see a specialist if he is not better.

Oh my Buddy Boy.  How will I ever keep you still for two weeks.

  2. Such a precious little guy. I do hope he makes a good recovery on his own. No vet care is cheap and especially not specialty care.

    1. Thanks Linda. The thought of any surgery is really beyond what I could afford so I'm praying these pills do something positive.

    1. Barbara, you've had your share of worries with Katie so you know how I am feeling. I'll bet you wish you had a doorbell too.

  7. It is so hard to see our little ones in pain. Perhaps he just tweaked his back or pulled a muscle. Hope the pills give him time to heal on his own. Let us know.

    1. Thanks Patti. I'm not good at this waiting game and he is not good at being still. We are a neurotic pair.

  8. Always scary when your best buddy is ill. Patti's advice is right on. If its his back he needs to rest. I hope I hear better news from you next time I check in.

    1. You're so right but trying to keep Buddy still is like trying to keep a toddler quiet is church - not so easy.

  9. Hopefully he gets better all by himself. Is it possible he has Lyme disease?

    1. Tom, thanks for calling Lyme disease to my attention. I had to look it up to be sure but thank goodness he doesn't have any of the symptoms.

  10. I hope Buddy is doing better by now. I hope you have survived keeping his still.
I think that would be hardest of all. Sending love.
